Project Overview
Madison Public Market adapts a former municipal fleet services building for food vendors, small businesses and community gatherings. The year-round marketplace earned LEED Gold certification through a broader design approach that includes efficient HVAC and improved indoor air quality.
The Challenge
The existing building had to accommodate new food, retail and gathering uses with different conditioning demands. The City identifies high-performance HVAC, enhanced ventilation and MERV 13 filtration as elements of the renovation, placing energy use and indoor air quality alongside the practical constraints of adaptive reuse.
Masters Solution
Masters supplied a Multistack split chiller with remote outdoor air-cooled condensers and Daikin Vision air handling units. The chiller package provides chilled-water cooling, while the air handlers condition and distribute air for the marketplace’s varied uses. Locating the condensers outdoors separates heat rejection from the indoor chiller installation, offering an equipment arrangement suited to renovation planning. This package addresses the cooling and air-handling needs within the project’s broader efficiency and ventilation strategy.
