Project Overview

UW–Green Bay’s Cofrin Technology & Education Center brings library collections, archives, learning spaces, technology studios and offices together. The university’s design emphasizes environmental stewardship, natural light and lower energy use alongside the needs of these different academic functions.

The Challenge

A mix of shared learning areas, studios, collections and support spaces requires coordinated central and zone-level conditioning. The confirmed equipment package also addresses dedicated laboratory moisture control. Balancing those needs with the building’s energy goals calls for an integrated approach to air handling, dehumidification and cooling.

Masters Solution

Masters supplied Ingenia custom air handling units, CDI desiccant dehumidification equipment for laboratory areas, Daikin fan coils, a Daikin AGZ chiller and a Güntner fluid cooler. Custom air handling provides the central airside foundation, with fan coils addressing local conditioning. The CDI equipment adds dedicated moisture removal, while the chiller and fluid cooler address cooling and heat rejection. This combination connects the confirmed equipment functions to the building’s varied environmental requirements and energy-conscious design.
