Project Overview
St. Norbert College’s Gehl-Mulva Science Center transformed an existing science hall through renovation and additions. The LEED Gold facility brings teaching and research laboratories together with Medical College of Wisconsin Green Bay spaces and a range of science disciplines.
The Challenge
Laboratory ventilation must balance supply and exhaust while maintaining the intended pressure relationships between spaces. For a teaching and research building, that means supporting changing laboratory activities without treating every room as a conventional comfort-conditioning zone; ventilation energy is part of that balance.
Masters Solution
Masters supplied Phoenix laboratory airflow valves and Phoenix Controls for the science center’s laboratory ventilation needs. The valves and controls support coordinated supply and exhaust airflow and the intended room-pressure relationships. This control-focused package connects the building’s research and teaching requirements with precise airflow management. It also provides a foundation for managing ventilation energy within the design team’s required airflow criteria, without compromising the environmental needs of the laboratories.
