Project Overview
Exact Sciences’ Discovery Campus reuses a former office campus in Madison for customer service, employee amenities and related activities. The renovated office building supports round-the-clock customer service, while dining, fitness and collaboration spaces reinforce the project’s employee-wellness and sustainability goals.
The Challenge
Continuous customer-service operations and intermittently busy amenities create different cooling and comfort demands. Within an adaptive reuse project, HVAC must support these varied uses while fitting existing-building constraints and maintaining appropriate indoor humidity through Wisconsin’s seasons.
Masters Solution
Masters supplied Haakon custom air handling units, DriSteem humidifiers, Daikin air-cooled screw chillers and MeeFog atomizing humidifiers. The custom air handlers provide air conditioning and distribution, the chillers supply chilled-water cooling, and the humidification equipment addresses moisture needs. This combination connects the equipment package to dependable comfort across the campus’s varied operating patterns and renovated spaces. Equipment application and system coordination are important to balancing those indoor-environment needs with efficient operation.
