Project Overview
Versiti is expanding its Blood Research Institute on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus with a 79,000-square-foot addition. The project will nearly double research capacity for work in blood cancers, bleeding and clotting disorders, and related conditions. The addition includes laboratory and support spaces, offices and collaboration areas. In its May 2026 update, Versiti anticipated opening the addition to researchers in December 2026.
The Challenge
Advanced laboratory operations require precise environmental control and dependable mechanical systems. Lee Mechanical describes efficient mechanical and temperature control systems, with reliability and redundancy supporting the research program. The HVAC application must balance stable laboratory conditions with the energy needed to move and condition air.
Masters Solution
Masters supplied Haakon custom air handlers with energy recovery wheels, DriSteem humidifiers, Vibro-Acoustics silencers and Daikin fan coils for the Versiti Blood Research Institute expansion. The project team included Lee Mechanical as the mechanical contractor and HGA as the mechanical engineer.
